DESCRIPTION:Guilford’s Town-Wide Yard Sale returns for another year and the BBCC will once again be open as a hub for any folks who would like to use our location for their yard sale. Outdoor space free for all to use\, if you would like to set up inside the building for a small donation of $10 we will provide a table and space. \nThe BBCC board will be hosting their own large yard sale to support the community center. DESCRIPTION:Kripalu All-Level Community Yoga Class \n** Proudly brought to you by the Guilford Recreation Commission ** \nThis 60-minute class will meet at the Broad Brook Community Center in Guilford\, VT about twice per month\, Mondays at 5 pm. Upcoming dates are:\nOctober 14th (this holiday Monday!)\nOctober 28th\nNovember 11th\nDecember 2nd\nDecember 16th\nDecember 30th \nCost: by donation\, suggested $10 (and $5 for seniors and those receiving EBT benefits). \nParticipants: adults and children 10 and older are welcome\, children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the class. A waiver to participate is needed (available at the door). \nThis class is accessible to people of all abilities and experience. Kripalu-style yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga that is a nonsectarian and nondogmatic vinyasa (flow) style class. Each class includes a centering pranayama (breathing exercise)\, warm-ups\, asana (posture) sequences\, and a final guided shavasana (relaxation). Modification prompts will be provided for those who would like to challenge themselves or those who would like accessibility options for their body. Discover the mind-body connection\, encourage stress reduction\, and improve self-regulation and physical health. Guided by Lindsay Parise\, a yoga practitioner of over two decades\, who is excited to offer this community-based class. \nParticipants should bring their own mat and any props they might need\, though a few will be available to borrow. Chairs will be available if this modification is needed. \nIf there is enough momentum for this class\, we hope to be able to offer it into 2025. DESCRIPTION:Start off the weekend right by joining your neighbors for a walk! The Recreation Commission is excited to start a weekly walking group to enjoy Guilford’s beautiful back-roads. This group will meet rain or shine\, as long as the roads are passable\, honoring the Norwegian saying “Det finnes ikke dårlig vær\, bare dårlig klær” / “There is no bad weather\, only unsuitable clothes”. \nThe group will meet on Saturday mornings at 7:30 am at the Covered Bridge. The time is subject to change as daybreak changes. The route\, from the Covered Bridge on Stage Rd in Guilford: \n\n1st Saturday of the month: east on Stage Rd\n2nd Saturday: west on Stage Rd\n3rd Saturday: north on Green River Rd\n4th Saturday: south on Green River Rd\n\nAnyone is welcome on these walks\, and people are free to walk at their own pace. Nice dogs on short leashes are also welcome. We hope you join us! \n  \nIf you would like to see another walk organized in town\, let us know when and where you would like to meet! \n  \n
