GUILFORD CONSERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES

8/21/25. 5:30 pm. In person and ZOOM

Attending- Linda Hecker, Steve Soszynski, Katie Shea, Alex Lacey, Josh Farr, Susan Bonthron, Anne Montgomery

Absent- Bill Jewell

Guests- Linda Lembke, Mary Woolsey

Meeting called to order 5:32pm

Agenda adjusted to accommodate guest presentation

Supporting Landowner Conservation Efforts- Linda Lembke gave a presentation with a suggestion to form a committee to

explore community relationships, identify potential forest blocks worth conserving and tap into existing land conservation resources. Members expressing interest – Steve, Josh.

July Minutes unanimously accepted and Action Steps reviewed

Guilford Fair Table- Staffing on Sunday- Steve and Katie to set up in morning, Josh afternoon. Monday- Linda in morning, Anne and Susan afternoon. Alex to rotate both days. Table, chairs, NRI sales, GCC handouts, Timmy Otter and Bobcat with naming contest.

Beaver Full Moon Walk – Linda to follow up with Patti Smith. Low water levels.

Flood Safety Info Session for public on Sept 25, sponsored by GCC and Planning Commission.

NRI update– 50 copies available for sale at fair and other locations in town $20. Katie spearheading project.

Beech Tree Disease- GCC to co-sponsor info session in early October with Town Tree Warden Matt Stinchfield at BBCC.

GCC Retreat planned for next regular meeting October 16,

to explore group dynamics, organizational structure, ways of working together. 2-3 hour session with potluck. Location TBD.
