ALGIERS TRAFFIC CALMING AND SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING

Monday, December 16, 2024, 1:00 p.m., 236 School Road, Guilford, VT

In attendance: Eric Morse, Sheila Morse, Erika Elder, Jean Eastman, Barry Aleshnick via Zoom

Draft Minutes

  1. Call to Order by Eric
  2. Recognition of Public
  3. Approval of minutes of the last meeting 10.21.24

Sheila moved to approve the 10.21.24 meeting minutes and Jean seconded. Roll call vote, all in favor.

  1. Scoping Study and Demonstration Project Updates

Erika: When Scoping Study grant is executed, need to create a committee for selecting contractor, RFQ. Next a steering committee for the study is formed and public meetings are held.
Demonstration Project: On hold on our end while VTrans is looking at the project and application and if demonstration could be part of scoping study. Sheila: nominate selection committee. Eric nominates all present committee members. Sheila suggests Colin Bratton participate. Sheila moved to create selection committee of committee members and Colin Bratton. Jean seconded. Roll call vote. All were in favor.

  1. Open Meeting Law Violation Accusation
    Eric: Violation accusation. Town attorney prepared a statement. Eric: Not a good use of resources to respond to this. Erika reads allegation by Tammy Sargent and response.
    Sheila Moved to ratify actions taken at the two meetings and Jean seconded, Roll Call vote. All were in favor.

Sheila moved to have Erika post all Agendas to Town website and two other places in town. Jean seconded. Roll call vote, all in favor.

  1. Consider if there are other issues to be addressed

Erika: There was a Public Record request related to this committee, for documents from AOT about use of a mirror on Rt. 5. There are no documents responsive to this request.

Sheila moved and Jean seconded to adjourn. Roll call vote, all in favor.
