Guilford Cemetery Commission Meeting Minutes 12.19.24

GUILFORD CEMETERY COMMISSION MEETING

THURSDAY 19 DECEMBER 2024  9:30 A.M.

TOWN OFFICE

Cemetery Commissioners Present:

Nancy Detra, Eric Morse, Kyle Parker, Carol Schnabel

Absent:

Eric Feindel

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 9:50 a.m.

Approval of Minutes:

The November minutes were approved as submitted.

Additions or Changes to Order of Agenda:

Do other business before sorting through files from Eric.

New Business:

We discussed the budget and agreed it can be level funded for next year.

We reviewed a draft for an article in the Gazette.  Kyle is our contact person, his email will be included.  Nancy will edit the draft and submit it.

Carol contacted Lisa Barry regarding 911 addresses for cemeteries. 

Old Business:

Green burial- We discussed putting information about green burials on our website with links to resources.  We are still considering doing a presentation in Guilford and inviting some local experts.

Blanchard tree- Kyle has set up a time to meet with Godfrey Renaud since our previous tree person has not yet done the work. 

Actions to be Taken:

Eric Feindel will report back about the Gill Cemetery that offers green burials.

Verandah will report about the videographer with experience with green burials.

Nancy will edit and submit the Gazette article.

Carol will follow through with Lisa Barry.

Kyle will follow up on Blanchard tree removal.

Eric Morse will show us more documents during our January meeting.

Adjournment:

The business part of the meeting was adjourned at 10:20 and the commissioners worked until 11:15 going through files.  Eric Morse continued to sort through files on his own after that.
