GUILFORD CEMETERY COMMISSION MEETING Minutes 2.20.25

Cemetery Commissioners Present:
Nancy Detra, Eric Feindel, Eric Morse, Carol Schnabel

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m.
Approval of Minutes:
The December minutes were approved as submitted.
Old Business:
The Blanchard tree still has not been taken down.
Eric Feindel clarified what questions to ask about the cemetery in Gill with green burials.
More information needed for 911 addresses.
New Business:
We reviewed many more files that Eric Morse wants to turn over to the Town. These included
“The Burial Grounds of Vermont” and its addendum which are now only available electronically
so that is a very important document to keep. He also had the handwritten notes that
Marguerite Evans submitted for the Guilford section of this publication.
While looking through these papers we re-confirmed that towns may restrict sales of cemetery
plots to people with connections to the town.
We discussed Town Meeting. Nancy offered a spot on her Guilford Energy Committee table for
a sign up for our May 31 workday, and Carol will ask Rick to announce it at Pre-Town and Town
Meeting. Eric Morse will nominate our cemetery commission position unless Rick is doing that
too.
