GUILFORD CEMETERY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES 9.19.24

Cemetery Commissioners Present:
Nancy Detra, Eric Feindel, Eric Morse, Carol Schnabel
Absent:
Kyle Parker
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 9:40 a.m.
Recognition of Public:
We welcomed Peter Hetzel.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes from the July meeting were approved as submitted.
New Business:
Eric explained what he has been doing to choose gravesites, mark the corners and create the
deeds for new burials.
Old Business:
We spoke more about getting in touch with VOCA and scheduling a work date.
We discussed the price of cornerstones from Abbiati and decided to require 2 checks at the time
of purchasing a cemetery plot, one to the Town of Guilford and a second to Abbiati.
We deferred the decision about chains at Maplehurst.
Discussions, Up-dates:
Carol will check with Abbiati about the status of the cornerstones that have been ordered.
Billings Cemetery sign- could be done at our October meeting.
Actions to be Taken:
Carol will get in touch with VOCA about scheduling a work day and also to find out the topic for
the September 28 meeting.
Carol will check with Kyle about Blanchard tree and signs remaining to be installed.
Eric Morse will contact property owner of Billings Cemetery about the new sign and tell him
about our planned meeting there.
