The Guilford Planning Commission is responsible for a wide range of community planning activities. Its primary responsibility is preparation of the Guilford Town Plan.

The Commission may prepare and present proposed bylaws to the Selectboard, and may be called upon to administer those bylaws that are adopted. They are authorized to undertake studies and make recommendations on matters of land development, urban renewal, transportation, economic and social development, urban beautification and design improvements, historic and scenic preservation, the conservation of energy, the development of renewable energy resources and wetland protection. The Planning Commission may be called upon to prepare and present to the Selectboard a recommended capital budget and program.

The Planning Commission meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at the Town Office. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.​

Planning Commissioners serve staggered terms and are appointed by the Selectboard.
