Don’t Forget to File Your Homestead Declaration!

The Annual Deadline for “on time” filing of your Homestead Declaration and Property Tax Credit Claim (HS-122) with the State of Vermont Department of Tax is April 15th. After April 15th a late filling fee will be added based on 8% of the education portion of your property bill.

To be eligible for a tax credit on your tax bill, you must:
-Declare your homestead
-File Forms HS-122 and HI-144 (Household Income)
-Your income must be below the eligibility cap. For 2024 the cap is $115,000.
