Absent- Josh Farr, Susan Bonthron

Meeting called to order 5:30pm at Town Office

Minutes from August and September Meetings approved unanimously

Agenda adjusted to accommodate Beaver Action Committee member Dave Eastman. He updated us on the status of the Grant to install a Beaver Deceiver at the Fairgrounds, where flooding has become an issue. Additional funding sources discussed, as well as potential need for more volunteers.

Beaver Walk at Sweet Pond State Park for November 5 with Patti Smith is pending for 7:00 pm during the full ‘Beaver Moon’.

Retreat Planning– Nov 20 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at BBCC

Pot luck dinner followed by strategic planning, goals, prioritizing projects, etc. Pre-retreat homework- review AVCC Handbook, Town Plan.

New Business

NRI Sales- more than 40 have been sold. To consider a second printing before March Town Meeting as needed.

Report from Land Conservation Committee -in discussions with other local conservation groups regarding best practices, landowner outreach, etc.

Summary of recent Beech Leaf Disease information session sponsored by Matt Stinchfield, Town Tree Warden, and including state representatives from Fish and Wildlife, Vermont Invasives, WSWMD, and County Forester.

New Business

Guilford Guide available on the town website (under ‘ Announcements’) to send changes, additions to Erika if needed. GCC Chapter is “Living on the Land”, pg 51-56.

Weeks Forest Carriage Trail – updated Trail Guide will be available soon. Linda H to discuss upcoming logging details with NEFF ( New England Forestry Foundation).
