  1. Demonstration Project

Eric: The map is the right section, but the view isn’t current. Colin: eventual next step is to bring this to the Selectboard. Work to be done on map. Sidewalks and crosswalks are the main issue. Two options for sidewalk – use existing pavement to stripe, add hay bales or bollards. If not enough space, alternative material – plastic matting. Brattleboor has a striping machine Guilford could potentially borrow. Eric: Documentation shows potential sidewalks on the east side, what the crosswalk would connect to. Colin & Eric will meet to measure. Eric – “Path to church” shown on map not actually there. Discussion about project options. Colin advises getting support and input from SB. Once measurements are done cost estimates will be forthcoming. Initial map is aspirational. State will probably walk it back. Crosswalk on Grist Mill and Guilford Center Road easier since they’re town roads. Bollards or bales needed especially on Center Road crosswalk by Richmond’s. Colin: Town would have to purchase materials. Local Motion may have materials to borrow. Colin will reach out. Eric: may there be another use for the mats if purchased? Eric – show signs on map? Danny says yes. Colin: Complete engineering drawing will come later. Dunham: signs are useful for SB narrative. Timing to speak to abutters, Richmond. Eric is talking  to Laura Systo and will talk to Doug. WWHT and FOAV letters of support needed. Discussion about radar signs. Erika will draft a letter of Selectboard support. Colin: Emphasize this is an initial step. Plenty of chances for discussion.
