Guilford Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes 4.18..2024
Attending: Linda Hecker, Linda Lembke, Anne Montgomery, Bill Jewell, Steve Soszynski, Susan Bonthron, Bevan Quinn, Karen Murphy
Guest: Josh Farr
Meeting called to order at 5:30.
Adjust agenda: Introductions
We introduced ourselves to Josh Farr who is interested in the commission’s work. He also told us about himself and his experiences with the natural world.
On motion the minutes from March 21, 2024 were unanimously accepted.
The trails committee was formed at their most recent meeting. The focus will be on non-motorized trails.
An article about the wildlife corridors signs on the Center Road will be in the upcoming Gazette.
The Guilford Handbook: We had a continuing conversation about what the GCC would like to include in the handbook.
Conservation Fund: We reviewed the draft documents that will define the administration of the selectboard approved conservation fund. One of the benefits of the fund is that donations may be to it. Several people have asked how they might support the GCC and this would be one way to do that.
Public walks updates: The walks will concentrate on some of the areas mentioned in the Natural Resources Inventory. The first one will be to a hilltop orchard. Announcements will be made ahead of each walk via Front Porch Forum.
On motion the meeting adjournment was unanimously approved at 6:50.
The next meeting is May 16 at 5:30 at the town office.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Murphy
Clerk Guilford Conservation Commission
