PLEASE NOTE: The Guilford Listers would like to clarify that this meeting is NOT the Grievance/Appeal Process. This meeting is to approve the Abstract of Individual List. After the Abstract is approved and signed by the Town Clerk, a date will be set for the Grievance process.

Following the meeting there will be an official “Notice to Taxpayers” posted stating the abstract was approved and when you can start signing up for a Grievance Hearing. This notice will be posted online on the Town Website and Front Porch Forum. It will also be posted physically at the Town Office, The Guilford Country Store, The Green River Covered Bridge, and the Broad Brook Community Center.

A letter will also be sent directly to any residents whose property was reassessed.

The grievance process is where you can challenge the reassessed value of your home before the Grand List is set. The Grand List will not be set until after the Grievance Process is over.
