Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes 10.10.24

Members Present:
Meghan Arthur, Elina Moss Koumjian, Taylor Franklin, Silvana Kerlin-Smith, Kelsy Allan, Mary Wallace, Verandah Porche.

Welcome to new members

Mary Wallace –

  • Craft fair is December 7th at Broadbrook
  • Fairy houses and gingerbread houses
  • Motion for Recreation committee to support – $80 was spent on supplies last year

Verandah Porche

  • On October 26/27 there is a play regarding Guilford Elders. Still photos with narration in their voices.

Community Yoga Event

  • Committee agreed on flyers and waivers
  • Will be hosted twice a month
  • Motion for a $200 budget for posters, 6 yoga mats, 10 blocks as well as straps
  • Committee agreed to see how many people show up & who brings own supplies before spending money.
  • Committee does have space to store supplies if donated or bought.

Trunk or treat event

  • Committee voted for October 26th as date, start time of 3pm. End time either 6pm or 7pm
  • Unanimous vote for $500 budget for supplies and Pizza.
  • Pizza will be by donation

Ski Program

  • No preparation needed; we have supplies.
  • Thoughts to reach out to Amanda Dixon at high school for tuning of skis and lessons?

Thoughts thrown out;

  • Intergroup meetings with other committee’s
  • Can we co-sponsor different events this winter for those that aren’t “snowbirds”
