Meeting Minutes – 3.21.2024

Attending: Linda Lembke, Linda Hecker, Anne Montgomery, Susan Bonthron, Steve Soszynski, Bill Jewell, Karen Murphy

Not attending: Bevan Quinn

Meeting called to order via Zoom at 5:35.

Agenda Adjustments: None

Minutes from February 15 were unanimously accepted.

Reviewed Action Steps

Recruitment of new members: Ongoing

Trails Committee report:  Linda Lembke and Karen gave a brief report of the latest trail meeting on March 20. 

Guilford Handbook: We had a discussion about what to include in the GCC section of the proposed Guilford Handbook. This will include resources for land owners and best practices of living with wildlife and protecting land.

Conservation Fund: The fund will be primarily used for land conservation but will be open to proposals for cultural and historical resources. A subcommittee was formed to draft guidelines for administering the fund. 

Public Walks:  There will be four GCC sponsored walks this year. Time, place and description of each walk will be announced on the town web site and Front Porch Forum.

Planning Commission Request: The GCC will collaborate with the PC on land use planning.
