The Village of Algiers is served by a municipal wastewater collection system and a municipal water supply system. These two utilities operate separately as described below.
Algiers Fire District #1
The Algiers Fire District #1 was created in the early 1990’s to oversee the small wastewater collection system that services the Village of Algiers. It is an independent entity from the Town of Guilford and functions as such with its own legislative body, the Prudential Committee. All those residing in the District (see map link below), who are registered voters in the Town of Guilford, constitute the voting body. The sewer serves 88 residences and businesses.

Algiers Water Line
The Algiers Water Line completed construction in 2013. It is owned by the Town of Guilford, governed by the Guilford Selectboard and exclusively maintained through agreement by the Town of Brattleboro. The water line is currently serving 11 customers.
