Cemetery Commission Minutes, 02.15.2024

GUILFORD CEMETERY COMMISSION MEETING
THURSDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2024 9:30 AM TOWN OFFICE

Cemetery Commissioners Present:
Nancy Detra, Eric Morse, Kyle Parker, Verandah Porche, Carol Schnabel

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 9:38 am

Approval of Minutes:
The minutes were approved as submitted

New Business:
We spent the bulk of the meeting looking through records in the vaults.  We had gotten a diagram of the layout of the shelves from Elly Majonen and Kyle had a printout of where cemetery records could be found.  

There are financial records, church records, and many other documents related to the cemeteries.  There are also books with all of the cemetery deeds in them.

We wondered what the process is concerning cemeteries that are not owned by the Town?  We have some records from those too.  

Old Business:
The tree at Blanchard Cemetery has not been taken down yet- probably will be soon.

Eric Morse has created a deed for the new cemetery plot.

Eric Feindel has agreed to join the Cemetery Commission.

Actions to be taken:
Kyle will check back with Anson Baldwin (Al Dacey) about tree removal.  

Eric will sort through his records and bring them to our next meeting.

Carol will make an appointment to meet with people interested in the cemetery plots.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am.
