Conservation Commission Minutes 2.15.2024

Attending: Linda Hecker, Linda Lembke, Susan Bonthron, Bill Jewell, Anne Montgomery, Steve Soszynski, Karen Murphy

Not attending: Bevan Quinn

Meeting called to order at 5:30 via Zoom

No changes to agenda.
The minutes from January 25, 2024 were accepted unanimously.

Action Steps reviewed.

Town Meeting Table:
Commissioners decided on what we will present including the NRI and relevant maps. 

Recruiting new members: 
Several names were suggested. 

Wildlife Corridor signage: Dan Zumbruskie will be placing posts when possible. The signs are ready.

Trails Committee: The Planning commission has taken the lead on trail development. 

Conservation Fund: Discussion of the process of administering the fund was discussed. We chose a model to use that details how this kind of fund can be administered.

Guildford Handbook:
Several items were chosen to be included in the new handbook. An example is posting land.

GCC walks:
We discussed several public walks that will be in areas outlined in the NRI. They will be advertised in April.

The next meeting is March 21 at 5:30.
