The following are the Draft Minutes for the Guilford Special Meeting held on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026, at 6:30pm at the Broad Brook Community Center


  • Call to Order
    • Meeting Started at 6:49pm
  • ARTICLE 1: Shall the Town of Guilford vote, pursuant to 24 V.S.A. § 4323, to provide that all members of the Planning Commission shall be elected by the voters of the Town rather than appointed, provided that members serving at the time of adoption shall continue to serve the remainder of their current terms, after which successors shall be elected in accordance with 24 V.S.A. § 4323 and other applicable Vermont law
    • Motion: Tara Cheney, Second: Paul Beebe

      • Motion Barbara Belcher-Timme, Seconded
      • Most in Favor, some nays
    • Vote by Voice
      • Was inconclusive due to the equal amount of Yes’s to No’s
    • Vote by Division
      • Motion Kim Frost Seconded by the majority of the body
      • Total Ballots Cast: 149
      • 78 Yes & 71 No
      • Article 1 is passed by the voters
  • ARTICLE 2: Shall the Town of Guilford vote that, if the members of the Planning Commission are elected by the voters of the Town of Guilford rather than appointed, and the current members serve the remainder of their current terms, successors will be elected for three year terms?
