Green Up Day 2020
Celebrating 50 years of Greening Up!
GREEN UP IS HAPPENING on SATURDAY, MAY 30th. As usual, the Town trucks will be parked at the Broad Brook Community Center (aka the Grange) from 9 am to 5 pm to load up with road side garbage that we pick up. As usual, tires will NOT be accepted and one truck will be designated for any metal and hazardous waste found. As usual on the day of, folks can mark where they are going to green up on our Guilford map. If you head out early, feel free to email the Green Up Coordinator and let her know where you have cleaned up.
What’s different?
- For those who would like to get started early, Green Up bags will be available, as of Monday, 5/18/2020 by 9 am, at either BBCC on the porch (please take no more than 4 bags per family per visit) or by contacting Elly Majonen at ellymajonen@yahoo.com
- BBCC will be open for bathroom facilities only (only 2 people in the building at a time).
- No coffee/food/snacks will be provided. Bottled water WILL be available.
- When at BBCC, please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, and adhere to social distancing safety guidelines (minimum 6 feet apart).
AS ALWAYS, please remember to protect yourself by wearing gloves, long pants and sturdy shoes or boots. Bug repellent is also recommended to deter ticks and black flies.
