Guilford Recreation Commission Meeting Notes 1/8/2025 6pm-6:20pm

Members Present: 

Meghan Arthur, Kelsy Allan, Elina Moss-Koumjian

Minutes:

Ski lending program updates – 

Elina has been in touch with the Guilford Library to discuss possibility of library taking on lending skis from the Guilford Rec. This would require a sign-out sheet, and skis would be stored in the shed behind library. Rec Commission members approve this. 

Community yoga program updates – 

Yoga has officially moved to weekly. Numbers keep increasing, and continued enthusiasm for the program from both the teacher and community members. 

Garden Tour planning – 

Meghan is heading up coordinating garden tour for spring. There are multiple volunteers already in touch and making preliminary plans. 

Craft group planning – 

Meghan is heading up planning for future crafting group in guilford. More details tbd. 

Rec Commission fb page – 

Current members don’t have access to former Guilford Recreation facebook page. Kelsy will continue to post recreation commission updates to Discover and Rediscover Guilford FB pages on behalf of the guilford rec commission. Current members don’t use facebook enough to resurrect the former rec page. Meghan will continue to post rec updates to Front Porch Forum. Elina will write up ongoing rec events for submission to the Guilford Gazette. 

Winter fair – 

With the current lack of snow, plans for guilford rec winter fair on hold. We feel confident that we can plan it on short notice if needed once the area has enough snow. 

Leadership for Feb – 

Meghan to step away from the rec commission for the month of February. Need someone to take over meeting hosting/agenda duties. No one present at this meeting available to step into the role. Will ask the rest of commission members via email. If no one is available, the commission will skip February meeting.
