Library Addition FAQ

We have received a number of questions about the library expansion project from our surveys and public information meeting. We have compiled a FAQ sheet that can be found below. Please let us know if you still have questions, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

How much will the library addition cost me?

The following calculation is based on the 2021 Grand List Value as well as the assumption of a 20 year bond:

Estimated annual amount to be raised by taxes for library bond: $12,211

Grand List Value: $2,460,598

Tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value: $0.005

If your home is valued at $500,000, that would be $2.50 per year.
If your home is valued at $200,00, that would be $1.00 per year.
If your home is valued at $1,500,000, that would be $7.50 per year.
