Librarian’s Report – Amber
- State came to measure the library’s building capacity (with tables & chairs– 16, 30 without)
- The Library Lunch Date program went beautifully & Amber was excited about the one on one attention the attendees were able to receive
- Poetry & Sound just finished & went off without a hitch. Guilford Sound hosted the four 8-12 age range program attendees which was such a fun field trip for all!
- Library Dance Parties & Zumbini programs will begin in May
- A Puppet Party will be happening in June using 2 generous grants: title 1 funding through the Guilford Central School & Amber is using one from the VT Dept. of Libraries
Co-Chair Report – Laura presenting in John’s absence
- Laura suggests we set a date for spring cleaning & we agreed on Sunday 5/17 at 3 PM. If trustees can’t make that day, they can come in another time before 5/19 deadline
- We discussed using fundraising finances for building maintenance & if window cleaning would fall under that
- Trustees went about a collective brainstorm of spring cleaning tasks
- Judith volunteered to attend the 4/27 6:30 PM Selectboard meeting with Amber
- In the May agenda we will revisit the Trustee Training Handbook & other resources John sent, set the date for the library social with Friends & go through our library survey results
Treasurer’s Report – Amber presenting in Jeanette’s absence
- We are definitely on track spending against budget!
- Discussed certain expenses that may increase in the next fiscal year. We budgeted for an increase in digital materials, but not for adult materials which cost more than children’s materials. Something to consider moving forward when creating the budget.
- Elly’s help has been so appreciated especially for paying the courier!
New Business
- Meghan suggested the idea of Silent Book Club being hosted at the library. Trustees suggested Guilford Center Meeting House would be an even better, larger location. Meghan will reach out to those in charge of the event to coordinate.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:49 PM.
