Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes 7.8.26

Present: Uriel, Meghan, Ellen, and Kelsey

I. Recognition of Public:

II. Call to Order: 5:03

III. New Additions:

  • Wendy Stone called the town office about the bunny cut out in the Rec Shed. Apparently the bunny was painted by her daughter and wanted to know since we weren’t hosting an easter event if she could have it.
  • Rec Commission members voted in favor of giving the bunny cut out to Wendy, Uriel will coordinate with Wendy.

IV. Old Business:

  • Existing Groups (Yoga, Fiber Arts, ASL / Spanish groups, Walking Groups)
    • Yoga has been having a great resurgence
    • Fibre arts is being hosted via volunteers, been going well
    • Spanish wasn’t able to run this past month. Meghan will follow up, making sure there is a host for the next meet up.
    • The walking group is happening.
    • Still interested in a potential bike night. We want to check in with Taylor as a major advocate for the event and think it could be a good back to school event. 


V. New Business:

  • Meditation group
    • Postponed to next meeting when we have Reagan
  • Intramural sports
    • Badminton will start a week from today, Meghan will be setting up two nets
    • Kelsy has two more weeks of camp work before they are free to host an intramural sport.. 
  • Talent show:
    • Needs help recruiting talents and auction items.
    • Ellen will be reaching out to the Country Store.
    • Rec Commissioners asked to support the talent show.
    • Uriel will be sending out a reminder about meeting up for the Talent Show
  • Cleaning out the supply shed
    • Cleaning up Friday Jul 24, 2026 starting at 3:30pm 
    • Current use: Trunk or Treat, Festival of Lights and Sports equipment
