The Guilford Conservation Commission will participate in a Regional Meeting of Conservation Groups on January 19, 2023, in lieu of our regularly scheduled meeting on the third Thursday of the month. This semi-annual event is sponsored by Windham Regional Commission. - Presentation: Climate Change and Land Use. Presented by the Energy Coordinator and Planner from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission
- In response to requests from their Energy Committees and Planning Commissions, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission created a paper called Climate Change and Land Use that provides municipalities with guidance on how to amend land use regulations to limit low density sprawl, enable compact walkable neighborhoods, and protect the working and natural landscape to ensure climate change resilience. They will share their findings and strategies on how Climate Change and Land Use intersect.
