7-20-23 Guilford Recreation Commission meeting minutes

Attending: Mary Wallace-Collins, Kelsy Allan, Chris Zappala, Verandah Porche, selectboard liaison

Call to Order: 6:42pm

The commission has discussed holding a “field day” to bring other Guilford town and private groups together to build cooperation and collaboration. While the Recreation Commission has been unable to organize such an event, it was suggested that organizing such an event could happen around building the Playscape Shelter which was delivered to the Playscape last week. The Rec. Commissioners have asked the home school group to lead on organizing a work party to assemble the structure.

The rest of the meeting was spent discussing options for events to be held at the BBCC.
Some ideas were: Talent show, board game nights, film viewing, and dances, a masquerade ball for Halloween, DJ’d dances, and even a regular Dance Morning for exercise.
The Recreation Commission will be actively participating in filling the schedule of events at the BBCC.

The commissioners, due to conflicts, set Tuesday, August 15 as the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:33pm.
