Guilford’s Town Administrator, Peder Rude, is on extended leave to deal with a recent, grave health issue.
Depending on a number of varying issues, Peder may return to work as soon as Monday, April 18. When he returns, it is expected that he would then work part-time for a month, from home. The doctor has instructed Peder to work 100% from home for at least three months and perhaps more.
The Selectboard is monitoring the situation closely. Clearly, patience will be required for the entire community. The Selectboard is grateful for everyone’s consideration. We will do the best we can.
Selectboard members Richard Wizansky and Zon Eastes have been charged by the Selectboard to review Peder’s job description, to develop, with Peder, a frame for moving forward, for sharing tasks among a team of supporters. Already, community members have volunteered to step up.
We all wish Peder and his family the very best as he copes with a serious diagnosis.
